Carl Hester Yard Visit and Demo
Tuesday, 10 September 2013 00:00

After a very early start to get the yard done this morning, Ash and I spent a brilliant morning at Carl Hester's yard at Newent, Glos along with Janet MacDonald and a group of riders from Gloucestershire Horse Riders. Carl demonstrated his training methods with a variety of horses from youngsters right up to Grand Prix, as always Carl was a brilliant teacher, keeping his explanations simple and clear. His enthusiasm and commitment were  infectious and we all left feeling inspired. The three hour demo was followed by a tour of the yard and an opportunity to meet Valegro and Utopia.  Massive thank you to Maria Reed  who organised the visit and to the riders who rode in the demo and Carl's staff, it can't be easy having an invasion of 25 people in a busy yard and lastly to Carl  himself for having us all, making us so welcome and  sharing his knowledge but  also for donating the proceeds of the visit to the Air Ambulance, a very worthy cause and one that all of us who ride should support. There but for the grace.......... so they say !
