Modern Apprenticeship Scheme

This is a government-subsidised scheme to offer work based training culminating in NVQ qualifications to young people aged sixteen to twenty five.

The scheme is based on a five day week, where in return for working the student receives training and a training allowance, amount dependant on age and experience. All costs of registration assessment and verification of the NVQ are funded. Additional funding is available in the form of a travel allowance and help towards essential equipment.

Vacancies are always available to join this scheme.

Wiltshire College Equestrian Outreach Programme

Recognised qualifications through adult education. Would you like to train for NVQ’s in Horse Care or BHS Stages Examinations without going to College?

Too Expensive? Limited time?

You can now gain qualifications without going to college, because the college will come to you. This programme is aimed at taking training back onto the yards, with money for that training coming from a network of colleges, in an attempt to give more people the chance to train in their local area.

The courses are full (450 hrs) or part time (330 hrs or 210 hrs) per calendar year. The training may be done at weekends, clinics, evening or whenever it suits the group. These courses are heavily subsidised, which means minimal costs to the students. Team Green Horses is able to offer NVQ levels 1 – 3 and BHS Stages exams.
